grab a paddle…

According to Google maps, the best route of travel from the US to China includes kayaking 2,756 miles across the Pacific Ocean…sounds easy enough.

Check it out for yourself:
1. Go to Google Maps and click Get Directions.
2. Type USA as your start point.
3. Type China as your destination.
4. Go to the 31st point on the route and have a good chuckle.

So, now that we are informed of all the possible options for getting to China, we will probably opt for the fastest route and pick air travel.

It would be great to not actually dig to China OR kayak across the Pacific Ocean...as fun and challenging as that sounds, I just don't think my arms are prepared for that. So, if anyone feels led to donate any of your unused travel points to help us offset our airfare cost, we would be happy to accept them.

And unfortunately, no, Brad can't fly us there - we would end up somewhere IN the Pacific ocean…which would force us to take the inflatable rescue raft the remainder of the way. So, scratch that idea...

  3. Hello Brad and Katie,
I just saw that you are following our blog. I peeked in on yours and WOW! -- S. Korea AND China? You are brave! You know, if you go the special needs route in China, your wait will be VERY short compared to the standard process. I always encourage people to go that route since we had such success with it. I'll keep following your journey!

Check out www.samaritanfundraising.com. It's an interesting concept. I ordered information on it for us and/or for the adoptive families group we are hoping to start in our church.

  4. OK so I read more of your blog (like, the rest of it) and I see you are doing CCOP but you aren't old enough for China yet. Got it! I am not up on how people process in 2 countries at once and I even looked into S. Korea a few months ago but we are not eligible for Korea because we are too old. Ha! Anyway, will keep watching!
